The Minnesota Twins was founded in 1901 in Washington, D.C., one of the eight American League charter franchises. They were initially called the Washington Senators. When MLB franchise was granted to Minneapolis, the team’s owner moved the team to the city and the team’s current name was born. Minnesota is also where the homes of some of America’s most famous people can be found, including those of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis and Charles Lindbergh.
