The Atlanta Braves has a long history as a team. In 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings was established, although it was dissolved a year later. Some members then joined the Boston Red Stockings, who were playing under the National Association of Professional Baseball Players. The team’s name later underwent several changes: from Red Sox to the Doves to the Rustlers. In 1912, they became the Braves and later in 1935, the Boston Bees. The nickname was changed back to the Braves due to new ownership in 1940. Throughout their career, the team changed locations from Boston to Milwaukee and finally to Atlanta.
Atlanta, Georgia is home to the Braves. It is the modern South, whose skyline was shaped by many of America's most important architects. Some of the most famous landmarks in the city include the Bank of America Plaza, Georgia Museum of Contemporary Art, Piedmont Park, the Georgia Museum, Botanical Garden, the Varsity and of course, Coca-Cola.
